A compact 9-million-parameter deep learning model running entirely on-device that grades Mandarin pronunciation and tones with high accuracy. It uses a Conformer encoder with CTC loss for fine-grained pronunciation feedback, tokenizing each Pinyin syllable with tone as a distinct token. The model can run in-browser or on smartphones with a small model size (~11MB after quantization).
