Auricle

Auricle is a compact, high-performance voice activity detection (VAD) tool built in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly. It improves upon existing VAD solutions by accurately detecting speech even in challenging environments with background talkers or noise. Auricle acts as a drop-in replacement for vad-web and integrates with OpenAI-compatible speech-to-text, chat, and text-to-speech APIs for turn management and interruption handling in voice agent applications. Its lightweight design (~350 KB gzipped) makes it suitable for browser-based voice interaction systems targeting indie developers and small teams.
