enigma-jev is an open-source software implementation that reconstructs Bletchley Park's Enigma-breaking pipeline. It simulates Enigma I, M3, and M4 machines, automates crib dragging, runs a Bombe with Welchman's diagonal board, and uses a ciphertext-only hill-climbing method. It incorporates Jev, a probabilistic model to assist in crib selection and validating decrypted text as German. The project provides an interactive 3D Enigma machine simulator with live breaking demonstrations, research papers, and evaluation metrics. It requires Bun runtime and an API key for some features but is independently developed and not affiliated with large companies.
