Ran GLM-5.3 through the coding plan against a real bug in a personal project rather than a toy prompt. It found the root cause in a legacy module faster than I expected and the reasoning trace was actually readable, not just a wall of tokens. Output token usage was noticeably lower than what I'm used to from Opus for a comparable task, which matters when you're iterating a lot in one session.

I've been using GLM-5.2 extensively over the past few days, primarily for software engineering tasks through OpenCode and Hermes-Agent, and it has genuinely impressed me. The biggest compliment I can give is that, during many coding sessions, it gave me a similar feeling to using Claude Opus. Not because the models are identical, but because of how reliably it understands context, follows complex instructions, and completes multi-step engineering tasks. I also tested it through Ollama Cloud using an API key, and the experience was consistently solid across different environments. What I appreciate most is that the team decided to open-source such a capable model. The AI community benefits enormously when high-quality foundation models are openly available, and I wanted to leave a review simply to thank and recognize the work that went into this release. Looking forward to seeing how the project evolves.

Open access and the MIT license are a huge plus, especially for those looking for an alternative to commercial APIs. I really liked how smoothly the dual-mode inference and code generation are implemented. Giving it 4 stars for now -some responses still need manual polishing (especially in more complex creative tasks), but the potential is huge. I’m sure the project will keep growing and improving!

Run your state case law through it first before trusting the compliance research output The training data probably skews heavily toward federal courts and might miss subtle jurisdictional differences entirely

owned media is just the starting point now. since LLMs rely heavily on consensus, do you think newer brands can build that external footprint organically, or is structured PR practically required these days?
