Ismail

Ismail is an open-source digital audio workstation designed specifically for AI agents to compose music by writing and reading everything as text, including notes, instrument patches, effect chains, and audio analysis. It supports iterative and precise edits, operates locally under an MIT license, and integrates with AI agent frameworks via MCP server, CLI, and skills. It enables creating, rendering, and analyzing music programmatically using Python and provides synthesizers, samplers, effects, and instrument modeling.
