Preloop is a local and self-hosted alternative to GitHub Actions, executing workflows on hardware-isolated microVMs across platforms. It provides step-level retries, debugging with pause-on-failure, and runs workflows unmodified against GitHub's official actions/runner protocol. It enables CI runs locally or self-hosted with features like quick VM forking, efficient resource usage, and detailed job inspection.
