Priced Out is an interactive tool that visualizes and compares median single-family home affordability across 315 US metro areas between September 2021 and September 2026. Users can input household income and see how many metro areas are within budget, stretching budget, or over budget based on mortgage costs including principal, interest, taxes, and insurance. The product highlights changes in housing affordability over time using real data sources including Redfin, Freddie Mac, U.S. Census, and the Tax Foundation.
