Reelbird
Reelbird is a free, open-source screen recorder designed for macOS 15 and later. It allows recording from your screen, camera, and microphone with separate audio tracks. Upon stopping the recording, it immediately provides a shareable link hosted on your own S3-compatible storage. You can later enhance the recording with auto-zoom, smooth cursor effects, and captions without changing the original link. It features native Swift implementation with no account required, emphasizes privacy by keeping data local unless shared, and supports exporting in multiple formats including MP4 and ProRes. Licensed under MIT, it is a lightweight, privacy-focused alternative to tools like Loom and Screen Studio.

Free?! I have some product demo videos on my todo list, so I'll give this a shot soon. I typically export my videos from Screen Studio and then import into Descript for more granular editing. Screen Studio is a great product, so I don't mind the price, but I do find it annoying that I have to supplement it with another tool due to functionality limitations. It would be great if Reelbird closed some of those gaps.
