Advice letters are a good constraint for this kind of simulation. Letting citizens keep their own agency makes the rumor, routine, and memory system more interesting. I'd mostly want a clearer trace for why one belief or memory wins when a citizen has competing reasons to act.

Unwatched is a persistent social simulation featuring AI citizens with personalities, memories, and relationships living on a shared island. Users create citizens by defining their personalities and appearance, then observe how they live, evolve, and interact autonomously in real time. Users offer advice through letter writing, influencing but not controlling citizens' decisions. The project is open source and supports user-provided AI models for citizen 'brains'.
